Planting Bamboo in chilly March weather

For our customers that have recently purchased bamboo and are wondering about planting out in this chilly weather read on.

The good news is that it's actually a really good time to plant bamboo (and trees too). Bamboo just purchased will benefit far better from the insulation the soil offers, much more so than if they are left potted.

Watering is still important although it's cold, but at a reduced rate. Water when planting and then review (weather depending) within 5-7 days. It's difficult to be too specific about watering because it depends on so many factors but try to keep the bamboo just wet without being sodden. If freezing night time temperatures are forecast, water early in the day to allow the water to soak in to the soil.
